Head Repair & Seal Installation

mvc-019fHead Repair & Seal Installation

Though these new S&S cylinder heads come with new cast iron guides but we here @ BWC choose to discard those iron guide for hard nickel bronze guides.  Why you might ask you self why ?

Well the reason being is that nickel and Bronze guides dissipate heat from the valve stem much quicker and disperses the heat into the cylinder head at a faster rate thus allowing tighter stem to guide clearances.

Minimum stem to guide clearances less than +.0006″ are easily attainable without seizure, and insure a long lasting job.

Guides are then prepared for all Teflon valve seal for a positive seal drying up the port of oil that causes a loss of power as well as oil consumption & contaminated fuel charge. Loose guide fit or large clearances contribute to a loss of up to 2-5 Horsepower. Old Iron heads such as Knuckle & Sportster greatly benefit from this as well as are hard nickel valve seats which contain a 48% nickel base alloy made exclusively for us for the last 15 years. No seat recession with this type of valve seats over other so called unleaded valve seats that only contain MAYBE 6 to 8 % Nickel and do not hold up the sever temperatures in today’s engines. Do not be under sold on your cylinder head upgrade or repair . “You get what you pay for” !!
