When it came time that Black Widow Cams came to be Dema Elgin him self sold Craig & Vikki of Black Widow Cams their first roller cam grinding machine in 1993 from the heart so they could grind their own cams for their customer base that where looking for something different and be come one of the leading Harley cam grinders. Just Like James Leinweber one of the last in the business as a independent small company. James Leinweber , John Andrews & Craig from BWC are in contact on occasion, Leinweber did also offer BWC two Camomatics cam grinders in 1999 prior to the public auction of Sifton Motorcycle Products INC.
When it was time Dema Elgin was more than glad that Craig & his wife Victoria Lockwood were going into the cam business. Dema Elgin him self at the time was and still is involved with SCCA road racers as well as well known Nascar engine builders. Dema was very close friends with both Ed Winfield and Clifford Collins both of which were graduate engineers and new a lot about air flow and thermodynamics. During those times & later became former teacher at M.M.I. in AZ. as Engine Re-build & Performance instructor (which now is the Screaming Eagle course) till moving to Littleton Coloadro where he and his wife Victoria Lockwood reside. Victoria Lockwood a former machine operator and trained at Central Oregon Community Collage In both manual & C.N.C.is active in the machine shop as well as drag racing her 883 (she says it’s only a little 883).
Craig & Vikki have to mentioned a couple of men one named just Harvey J. Crane Jr. who has been another inspiring person in their life, as well as Dudley Perkins Jr. whom Craig had the privilege of working with him as well as his two sons James now retired and Tom Perkins now CEO. and of course REX Hutchinson of Hutchinson racing engines in West Sacramento Ca. were he was working shop foreman maintaing sprint car engines with Rex’s son Glen.
